Particular notes

The intervention on the plant has inserted innovative solutions and geometries, with the aim of exploiting the existing building for the insertion of the new pumps, after carrying out the appropriate fluid dynamics checks in the various operating conditions.

The fluid dynamic study

Often in the pumping pipes, where pumps with grates and other hydraulic structures are installed, superficial and submerged vortices form. This cause swirls, reduced capacity, air inlet and inefficiency in the system operation.
The purpose of the fluid dynamic study is to obtain an optimal flow to the pumps, avoiding pre-rotation phenomena at the suction bell inlet and to reduce or even prevent the formation of vortices that could introduce air into the pump.
