Each pump is equipped with the technology of adjustable blades in operation.

This solution allows to reduced flow rates up to 50/60% of the nominal capacity and to keep unchanged the head, always with excellent performance.

The pumping station has a strategic importance for the preservation of a densely populated area, near the mouth of the Tevere river, and at the same time, extremely delicate and vulnerable from a hydraulic point of view.

The intervention concerned the modernization and at the same time the upgrading of the equipment of the pumping station, allowing an improvement of the functional safety, as well as a better effectiveness, thanks to the increase of about 50% of the pumped capacity, without distorting the plant structure.

In addition to the aforementioned improvements, an extreme flexibility of use was also obtained, thanks to the adoption of adjustable flow pumps, managed by a sophisticated automation system, with remote supervision.
