A bit of history...
Mondine's historic pumping station was completed in 1925 with the aim of pouring the high waters of the territories of the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Modena, which are above 25 m above sea level, into the Secchia river.
The waters collected, in flood conditions of the Secchia river, are conveyed to the Mondine pumping station where they are pumped above the river water levels.
The seismic events in May 2012, put the Mondine pumping station out of operation, which is managed by the Emilia Centrale Reclamation Consortium.
The damage to the plant put in crisis the hydraulic safety of an agricultural area of 50 thousand hectares.
In 2013 began the construction of the new Mondine pumping station, where MISA carried out the electromechanical works.
The interventions were financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region, initially limited to the first part of the new pumping plant, and subsequently for the conclusion of the entire node.
