The water reaches S. Vito after having been derived from the intake structure Fener and having traveled 22.8 km: 9.4 km along the Brentella canal up to Croce del Gallo (Crocetta); 5 km along the Asolo-Maser canal to the Maser hydraulic
node; 8.4 km along the pressurized pipeline that first feeds the Pierina control unit and after a few km also the S. Vito control unit.
It is a cross-flow (or Banki) turbine designed to discharge water 350 l/s with head 47 m, connected to a 132 kW asynchronous generator, 760 rpm, 8 poles.
The project involved the construction of a derivation pipe from the new Loria intake conduit with a diameter of 700 mm upstream of the existing piezometric tower built in the early 1960s. The original pipeline, also built in the early 1960s,
had been replaced a couple of years ago with a new GFRP pipeline.
The adoption of design and construction peculiarities has allowed the plant to be inserted in the town of San Vito, without causing inconvenience to the inhabitants, thanks to the particular systems of acoustic insulation and attenuation of
the vibrations produced by the machine.
