The renovated hydroelectric plant was designed and built in 1888 by Alessandro Rossi, to produce the electricity needed for the operation of the same name paper mill. After more than 100 years of service, the old studded penstocks were no longer
able to fulfill the intended task.
The construction site, which lasted just under a year, despite the heavy conditions of intervention, saw activities developed simultaneously for all the 1500 meters on the pipelines and the adduction channel and the use of n. 3 tower cranes
with a 60 m boom, able to cover the entire work area on the pressure pipes, along the slope of the mountain (with inclines of 35-40%) and inside a tunnel length 1000 meters.
The intense commitment and coordination of the activities allowed to limit the duration of the necessary downtime for the execution of the main works within just 300 days.
The intervention on the pipelines allowed to feed well 3 alternator
turbine groups of 1350, 550 and 240 kVA.
